A few days ago, the editors of heat sink manufactures learned that the AMD RYZEN got its official name in Mandarin, which is a continuation of the series of Sempron, Athlon, and Phenom which are all named as "dragons" in Mandarin. The NDA of AMD RYZEN will also be lifted during Feb. 28th to Mar. 2nd. We can foresee various versions of complete testing reports from a variety of sources in the near future.
Relevant people also disclosed photos of a batch of RYZEN processors to be delivered with a large "RYZEN"logo on the CPU HIS. Some of them are without the "RYZEN"logo and they are clearly engineering samples. Those printed with "RYZEN" are samples for testing and various testing organizations and personnel have received those printed with "RYZEN" logo.
When we take a closer look of the CPU surface, we noticed "DIFFUSED IN USA" and"MADE IN CHINA" underneath the CPU. In other words, the chipset techniques are completed in the US and the final packaging is completed in China. This clearly indicated that AMD values more on China's techniques and market.
The editors would like to pay close attention to the coolers. The AMD RYZEN 1800 series and the 1700X will come with the standard square "Wraith Max", which is the high-end version of Wraith coolers and measures at 105*108*85. The RYZEN 1700 comes with the standard round "Wraith Spire" which is the low-end version of Wraith coolers and measures at 109*103*54. We tested the earlier generation of Wraith coolers and found the cooling performance and noise level to be quite satisfying. Therefore, we believe these two new coolers will not let us disappoint about the performance.
As editors of the heat sink manufactures, we made deliberate searches on the internet and found more and more information regarding the AMD RYZEN. As it's getting closer for this new processor to take the official stage, let's wait and see whether it will get everyone satisfied or not!
